About Us

Christ Presbyterian Church - a little church in the woods. A church small enough so members don't feel "lost in the crowd", yet big enough to make a difference in the community and the world. Visit and find out for yourself.

bulletPastor Susan Joseph Rack TH.M.

Pastor Susan Joseph Rack answered Christ Presbyterian Church's call to become our minister of Word and Sacrament in July 2003. She brings to our community a passion for biblical literature and it's relevance to our life of faith today, as well as a heart for interfaith ministry. Her love of music, dramatic and visual arts, and her experience in liturgical dance promise opportunity for creative expression in worship. Susan attended Princeton Theological Seminary, graduating with both a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Theology in Old Testament Studies. During her seminary years she was the chaplain at Johnsonburg Presbyterian Camp, where she and her sons, Noah and David, enjoyed three summers of outdoor ministry. Previous to joining us at CPC, Susan was the pastor responsible for Christian Education in a large church in Delaware. Pastor Susan invites you to join us in worship and ministry.

bulletErin Greenfield - Music Director

Erin Greenfield comes to us from Washington state (just south of Seattle) by way of the Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton. In Washington she studied piano, performing as a soloist and chamber musician. At Westminster she studied piano accompanying and coaching. Erin loves song because it serves many purposes. Song is the most heightened form of text, adding more meaning to our message and singing can be introspective, meditative, and can bring meaning to thoughts people would otherwise be unable to articulate. As music director, Erin takes the human connection to song, and uses it to further our connections to ourselves, our community, and God.

bulletEmily Morgan - Princeton Seminary Field Education Student

Emily comes to us from Colorado Springs, Colorado by way of Princeton Seminary. She received her undergraduate degree from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. She sings, plays the guitar, and enjoys reading novels. She is also a writer. An article she wrote entitled “Loans for Life” (addressing how the economy has affected young adults) will be included in the inaugural issue of Unbound, the new Presbyterian social justice online journal. At Princeton she is in her third year of a program to obtain both a Master in Divinity and a Master of Arts in Christian Education.

bulletThe Sanctuary

There are no fixed pews in our sanctuary. This allows for a flexibility and creativity in seating arrangements and worship presentation. Often there is a display on one wall of the sanctuary embracing a theme for the season. On special occasions tables are brought in for meals or game nights, or the chairs are cleared for dancing. Since our church has only one floor all areas are easily accessed.

bulletChurch Grounds

Christ Presbyterian Church building

The church building sits on several largely wooded acres. On the northwest corner is a playground where the children can release their energy before and after services. A river runs past the church on the North and a memorial garden is available for meditation on the east side of the building. As part of the Church's 40th anniversary a labyrinth was constructed. More information about the labyrinth can be found on the Labyrinth page

The church building resides in the Community of Martinsville (see the directions page), which is part of Bridgewater Township. The church serves worshipers in Martinsville, Bridgewater, and surrounding communitites.
